butchertown hall, nashville

Equal parts “Texo-German” meat market and modern beer hall, Butchertown Hall opened in 2015 as the embodiment of Germantown’s historic cultural heritage. Real and super-rustic, the kitchen at Butchertown is American cookery at its roots, with all the layers peeled back. a live-hearth fire provides the fuel for most everything that comes out of the open kitchen, from coal-fired vegetables-in-season to house sausages and whole roasted chickens. a custom smoker is our workhorse, for brisket, whole chickens, shoulder clod, and whatever else we choose to slow smoke. Imagine food with soul, both exciting and traditional, in a setting not far removed from a backyard or campfire feast.

Butchertown Hall was Germantown’s first bier hall since 1909, and has built a reputation as one of the premier destinations in the country for European and American Craft styles. The Hall itself, designed by terry, is a stunning 40 ft-tall cathedral that can accommodate roughly 250 visitors, including another 100 in the bier garten, the best place in nashville to dine al fresco.
